Celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a morning of running, family fun and community spirit at the Kensington Pink Race, presented by the Kensington Elementary PTO.
This family-friendly event will take place entirely on the Kensington Elementary School track and offers activities for runners and walkers of all ages. Participants are encouraged to wear pink and help fill the track with support for local families affected by breast cancer.
Race Options
- 1-Mile Fun Run: Four laps around the track, open to all ages
- Kids’ Sprint/Walk: One lap, approximately 400 meters, for children in PreK through first grade
- Family Laps: Easy, noncompetitive laps for parents, grandparents and children to enjoy together
Participants will start in age-group heats to keep the event safe and fun for everyone.

Registration
Registration is $30 per family and covers every participating member of your household. Registration includes:
- Entry into the fun run or sprint/walk
- Pancake breakfast following the race
- Coffee and hot chocolate
Registration closes on Saturday, October 17, at 7:00 PM. Race registration fees support Kensington Elementary PTO programs.
Schedule
8:30 AM: Check-in
8:45 AM: Opening remarks and warm-up lap led by the KES cross-country team
9:00 AM: Kids ages 5 and under — one lap
9:10 AM: Kids ages 6 and older — one mile
9:30 AM: Adults — one mile
9:45 AM: Optional noncompetitive event — one lap to one mile
A pancake breakfast with coffee and hot chocolate will follow the races.
Participants may make a separate donation to My Breast Cancer Support while registering. One hundred percent of these donations will directly support local breast cancer patients and their families.
Your generosity helps provide meaningful financial and emotional assistance—including help with groceries, transportation and household expenses—so patients can focus on their health and treatment.
Pink Kensington hats featuring the town’s signature “K” will also be available to purchase for $20 on race day.
